The Palmer Honeycutt Scholarship

Honoring a Legacy. Supporting Men in Need.

These were the hallmarks of my grandfather, Palmer Honeycutt's, life. He never knew a stranger and carried with him a deep love for his family, his faith, and the men he worked alongside in church, at the factory, and in his community. He shaped me—his grandson—into the man and father I am today.

Like many men, my grandfather also carried hidden battles. In his final years, he faced excruciating physical pain that led to struggles with mental health. Tragically, those struggles ended his life far too soon. His story reminds us that even the strongest, kindest, and most faithful among us are not immune to life’s burdens.

Out of this grief comes a desire to honor his legacy in a way that continues his work with men—offering support, encouragement, and hope.

Faith. Humor. Storytelling. Connection.

The Palmer Honeycutt Scholarship, created through Dad on a Mission, is designed to help men who find themselves at a crossroads in life—navigating divorce, financial struggles, fatherhood challenges, or the weight of mental health battles.

This scholarship provides discounted coaching opportunities for men who might not otherwise have access. Coaching is not about fixing anyone—it’s about walking alongside men, helping them discover their God-given strengths, and giving them tools to move forward with clarity and confidence.

About the Scholarship

Men often suffer in silence. They carry burdens quietly, afraid to ask for help. My grandfather modeled what it looked like to show up for other men—with humor, with faith, and with real conversation. This scholarship ensures that more men can receive that same kind of presence and support when they need it most.

By participating in or supporting this program, you are not only honoring Palmer’s life—you are making it possible for another man to find hope in his darkest days.

Why This Matters

Palmer’s story is a reminder that every man’s life matters. His laughter, his storytelling, and his deep faith live on—not only in our family but now through this scholarship. May every recipient of this scholarship know that they are not alone, that their story is still being written, and that hope can be found even in life’s hardest chapters.

A Legacy of Faith and Connection

As we work with men, one word we frequently hear is “lonliness.” Asked why they don’t seek coaching support, many men navigating the challenges of life share that financially they do not have the extra resources to prioritize themselves. This scholarship fund looks to overcome this hurdle by greatly reducing the coaching fee for them - and in somecases reducing the fee all together.

To qualify for this scholarhsip, men simply need to connect with Mitch and share their current situation with him. From there, he will work with each man to determine the best route forward.
